Brief description
Map4Fostercare was a transformative initiative designed to reinforce foster parent education by integrating flexibility and resilience into existing programs. It aimed to equip foster parents and professionals with a broad spectrum of training, from psychology and functional medicine to coaching and Philosophy for Children (P4C), and aspired to cultivate a sustainable model. Through a train-the-trainer program, it engendered mentors for ongoing learning, ensuring foster parents were well-equipped to meet the multifaceted needs of children in their care.
Objectives
- Elevate Foster Parent Education: To offer an enriched, multi-disciplinary training curriculum that addresses the comprehensive needs of children in foster care.
- Foster Continuous Learning: Establish a mentorship framework that promotes ongoing development for foster parents and professionals.
- Cultivate a Supportive Community: To build a network of trained mentors among foster parents and professionals, fostering peer support and shared growth.
